Querying Infinite Data

Use notebooks to query data released by Infinite Data while keeping governance and traceability.

When to use this​

  • Use it when the analysis needs to combine SQL with notebook steps.
  • Use it for experiments, validations, and exploratory studies.
  • Use it when QueryMesh Explorer is not enough for the analytical flow.

Before you start​

  • Have access to the NoteCore workspace.
  • Have access to the data you want.
  • Know which tables will be used.

Step by step​

  1. Open your notebook in NoteCore.
  2. Connect to Infinite Data following your organization's standard.
  3. Start with a small query to validate access.
  4. Add filters and select only the columns you need.
  5. Run the analysis in steps.
  6. Record important observations in the notebook itself.

What happens next​

  • Queries respect the data rules, masks, and filters.
  • Data use can appear in the audit trail and lineage.
  • Access changes can alter results on later runs.

Common errors​

  • Access denied: ask for the data rule to be reviewed.
  • A different result from the Explorer: check the filters and the user account used.
  • A heavy query: reduce the volume during exploration.

Good practice​

  • Start small and increase the volume carefully.
  • Do not save sensitive data without need.
  • Document the origin and purpose of the data you use.
