Bundled skills
Imaginne ships with a set of document skills ready to use. They're systemic: installed automatically, with nothing to configure, and available across every surface. You don't create or publish them — this page describes what each one does, the files it generates, and how they reach your machine.
How they're installed
Bundled skills are embedded in the product and installed in two ways, depending on the surface:
- Desktop, Terminal (TUI), VS Code. They ship inside the application itself and are extracted to
~/.imaginne/skills/at startup. They don't depend on organization sync. - Browser chat. They're already present in the server image where the agent runs.
On Desktop, under Settings → Skills, the bundled skills appear in the list, but remote install/uninstall is disabled — they're part of the product. For your organization's skills, see Skill governance.
Every bundled skill follows the same discipline: it writes the final deliverable into outputs/ (the OUTPUTS_DIR variable) and generates documents entirely on your machine (network: none), never using the network. See Files & artifacts for where files appear on each surface.
ppt_skill — C-level presentations (.pptx)
Creates designer-grade executive presentations (.pptx) from text, attached files, or data, using the native nnumbers-office-pptx engine (bundled portable Node — you install no PowerPoint, LibreOffice, Node, or cloud service). The engine picks the visual automatically and handles all layout, filling, and quality control — you don't choose a template or draw slides.

It runs 100% locally (network: none) and writes everything to outputs/. To create a deck, just describe what you want in plain language (e.g. "create an 8-slide executive presentation about the expansion plan") — see the Generate a presentation recipe.
docx — Word (.docx)
Creates, reads, and edits Microsoft Word documents, with the same 8 color schemes (corporate is the default).

excel — Excel (.xlsx)
Creates, reads, and edits Microsoft Excel spreadsheets with professional formatting. It accepts input from CSV, JSON, Markdown, or inline arguments and offers more than 12 editing operations.

pdf — PDF
Creates, reads, and edits PDF documents. Generation uses reportlab (from Markdown, with the 8 schemes); extraction uses pdfplumber (text + tables → Markdown + images).
