Install the Desktop
Imaginne Desktop is a native, self-contained app for macOS and Windows. This page covers downloading, installing, the first login, and how the app keeps itself up to date.
You need an account in your organization. If you don't have one yet, ask an administrator to create your user — you'll receive an email to set your password. See Identity & login.
1. Download
There are two ways to get the installer:
- From the console: go to
https://ai.nnumbers.com.br/app, log in, and click Download Desktop (top right). The console offers the right package for your system. - Through the installer your organization provides.
If your organization uses the validation environment, download the matching DEV build (it points to your organization's validation environment and uses the ~/.imaginne-dev/ folder). The two channels coexist side by side. See channels.
2. Install

- Open the downloaded
.dmgfile. - Drag the Imaginne icon into the Applications folder.
- Open Imaginne from Launchpad or from the Applications folder.
On first launch, macOS may ask for confirmation because the app was downloaded from the internet — confirm to continue.
- Run the downloaded installer (
.exe). - Choose the installation folder and complete the wizard.
- Open Imaginne from the Start menu.
If Windows shows a SmartScreen warning for an uncommon app, choose to continue running it.
3. First login
When you open the app for the first time, you'll see the Welcome to Imaginne Desktop screen.
- Click Sign in.
- Your browser opens your organization's login page. Sign in with your email and password.
- When you're done, return to the app — it will already be authenticated.
The Desktop never sees your password: authentication happens in the browser, and the app receives only an opaque session token. That same authenticated session works across every Imaginne surface.
The welcome screen has optional Platform URL and Org slug fields, useful in specific environments. In most cases, leave them blank — the default values already point to the correct environment.
After logging in, click + to create your first project (a working folder); the app starts a session automatically. From there, see Use the Desktop.
Automatic updates
At startup, the Desktop checks a signed manifest and reacts based on the result:

| Already up to date | Nothing — the app opens normally. |
| Update available | A banner with Update / Later. |
| Required update | A modal with Update / Quit (you can't continue on the old version). |
| Check failed | A discreet notice; you keep using the current version. |
Whether the app can update itself depends on how it was installed:
- Per-user installation — updates itself without administrator privileges.
- Global installation (for all users) — does not update itself; the app asks you to reinstall it as per-user.
If the app fails to start 3 times in a row after an update, it automatically reverts to the previous version. This protects you against a problematic update.
Optional plugins
Some features come as plugins downloaded on demand, under Settings → Plugins:

Download only the ones you'll use; they can be removed later.
Voice
Speech recognition (speech → text) is already compiled into the Desktop. To use it, you need:
- microphone permission granted to the app, and
- voice credentials enabled by your organization.
The transcription goes into the message field for you to review — it does not send on its own. Details in Voice.

Sessions, memory, and project files remain readable on your machine's disk. Treat the machine as part of the security perimeter. See Local execution.
